The crab mingles with zesty, spicy Old Bay® seasoning, tangy mayonnaise, and bright lemon zest just perfectly. Ingredients
- 1 (16-ounce) container crabmeat, picked through
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped, plus more, to taste, for garnish
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon ground dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, zested
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Directions
Step 1 -In a large bowl, add the crabmeat, the breadcrumbs, the Old Bay seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of the parsley and mix until well-incorporated, but be sure not to overmix. The mixture should be somwhat lumpy.
Step 2 -In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, the dry mustard, the Worcestershire sauce, the salt, the black pepper, the lemon zest, and the egg and beat to combine.
Step 3 -Add the mayonnaise mixture to the crab mixture and gently stir to combine until the mixture is well-coated.
Step 4 -Form the crab mixture into 8 equal patties.
Step 5 -Place the crab patties on a baking sheet and cover them with plastic wrap.
Step 6 -Refrigerate the patties until they are firm, about 30 minutes.
Step 7 -In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the vegetable oil.
Step 8 -In batches, add the crab cakes to the hot oil and cook until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F and are golden-brown, about 3-5 minutes per side.
Step 9 -Serve immediately garnished with the extra parsley.
