Texas T-Bones are the way you do steak from the state that does steak better than any other! The steaks are already prime cuts of beef, just ready to be grilled so a savory crust can form around the rosy, juicy interior. But Texas T-Bones add in a spicy and sweet seasoning rub with extra savory flavor packed in, bringing out the most in the beef flavor! These steaks go the extra mile to make your taste buds happy!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 2 (1-inch-thick) T-bone or porterhouse steaks
- salt, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the grill to medium.
Step 2 -In a bowl, add the chili powder, the brown sugar, the cumin, the garlic, the cider vinegar, the Worcestershire sauce, and the ground red pepper and whisk to combine.
Step 3 -Press the spice rub mixture evenly over the steaks.
Step 4 -Add the steaks to the hot grill and cover the grill.
Step 5 -Cook the steaks, flipping them once, until they reach an internal temperature of 130 degrees F for medium-rare doneness or 140 degrees F for medium doneness, about 11-14 minutes on a charcoal grill or about 15-18 minutes on a gas grill.
Step 6 -Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes to come up to 135 degrees F for medium-rare and 145 degrees F for medium.
Step 7 -Optionally, remove the bones from the steaks and slice the meat against the grain.
Step 8 -Season the steak slices with the salt and serve.
