Step 3 -Add the flour to the yeast mixture and mix until it is smooth.

Step 4 -Place the dough in a greased bowl and turn it once with a spoon so that the top of the dough is greased.

Step 5 -Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to overnight.

Step 6 -On a floured surface, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.

Step 7 -Spread 1 tablespoon of the softened butter over the flattened dough.

Step 8 -Fold the corners of the dough to the middle and then fold in half.

Step 9 -Wrap the dough in waxed paper and chill for 30 minutes.

Step 10 -Repeat the rolling, buttering, folding, and chilling steps twice.

Step 11 -Grease a baking sheet.

Step 12 -On a floured surface, roll the dough out to a 35x5-inch rectangle.

Step 13 -Cut the dough into 16 triangles.

Step 14 -Roll each triangle from the wide edge to the tip and pinch to seal.

Step 15 -Place the rolls, tip-down, on the prepared baking sheet, and curve the rolls to form crescents.

Step 16 -Cover and let the crescents rise in a warm place until they have doubled in size, about 30 minutes.

Step 17 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 18 -Bake until the crescents are lightly brown, about 10 minutes.

Step 19 -In a small bowl, mix the confectioners' sugar, remaining milk, butter, almond extract, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.

Step 20 -Spread the icing over the warm crescents and sprinkle with walnuts.
