Summertime barbeques just got a new touch of heat! Sweet & Spicy Chicken brushes down the charred savory chicken with a luscious and spicy glaze that will get you fired up! The sriracha in the glaze means that Sweet & Spicy Chicken has just the right amount of spice and flavor without overwhelming the taste of the chicken! Serve over rice, with a side salad, grilled veggies- your options are endless!
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 6 tablespoons sriracha
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 1/2 pounds chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 2-3 green onions, optional, for garnish
- sesame seeds, optional, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Step 2 -Melt the butter in a small saucepan on the stove-top.
Step 3 -Add the ginger and garlic, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 4 -Add the paprika, ground cloves, honey, sriracha, and lime juice, stirring until fully combined.
Step 5 -Allow the mixture to simmer for 4-5 minutes.
Step 6 -Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
Step 7 -Season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides.
Step 8 -Prepare the grill grates by spraying with cooking spray.
Step 9 -Add the chicken to the grill, skin side down.
Step 10 -Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side.
Step 11 -Continue cooking and flipping until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 12 -During the final 5 minutes of grilling, brush the chicken on both sides with the prepared glaze. Serve immediately.
