Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 6 cups cold water, divided
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon blue food coloring
  • ice cubes, to taste
  • lemon slices, to taste, for garnish
  • mint leaves, to taste, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the white sugar and 1 cup of the water and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step 2 -Transfer the saucepan from the heat and let the simple syrup cool.

Step 3 -In a large pitcher, add the fresh lemon juice, the prepared simple syrup, and the remaining water and stir until it is completely combined.

Step 4 -Gradually add the blue food coloring to the lemonade and stir until the color is evenly distributed.

Step 5 -Add the ice cubes to the lemonade.

Step 6 -Add more of the ice cubes to the serving glasses and top with the lemonade.

Step 7 -Serve the lemonade garnished with the lemon slices and the mint leaves.
