Sure, we love a delightfully sweet breakfast, but man, oh, man, we sure do get excited about a savory one! Especially this Jimmy Dean® Croissant Casserole. It really has the good stuff thanks to some morning-famous Jimmy Dean ground sausage, crispy croissants, lots and lots of melty cheese, and a delicious custard-y sauce. Hearty and delicious, Jimmy Dean Croissant Casserole is really where it's at!

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-ounce) package Jimmy Dean hot ground pork sausage
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 green onions, sliced
  • 24 mini croissants, torn
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 5 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups Gruyère cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1 -Coat a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 2 -In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 8 minutes.

Step 3 -Add the parmesan cheese, the salt, the green onions, and the mini croissant pieces to the sausage and toss to combine.

Step 4 -Pour the sausage mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Step 5 -In a bowl, add the milk, the heavy cream, and the eggs and whisk to combine.

Step 6 -Pour the egg mixture over the sausage mixture.

Step 7 -Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and chill the casserole in the refrigerator, for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.

Step 8 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 9 -Uncover the casserole and evenly sprinkle with the Gruyère cheese.

Step 10 -Bake the casserole until it is golden, about 45 minutes.

Step 11 -Transfer the baking dish to a wire rack and let the casserole stand, about 10 minutes.

Step 12 -Serve.
