Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups half-and-half
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 8 flaky buttermilk biscuits, store-bought or homemade
Directions
Step 1 -In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.
Step 2 -Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the flour, the half-and-half, and the butter to the cooked sausage and cook, stirring often, until it has thickened into a gravy consistency.
Step 3 -Add the thyme, the rosemary, the red pepper flakes, and the black pepper to the gravy mixture and stir to combine.
Step 4 -Serve the sausage gravy evenly drizzled over the biscuits.
