No buns required with this dish! Easy Loaded Cheeseburger Rice is all of the satisfaction of munching on a cheeseburger, but in a jumble of tender rice! You'll find the sour pickles, the tangy barbecue sauce, the melty cheese, and of course the meaty, succulent beef all present! Oh, and bacon. Got to have the bacon, right? Easy Loaded Cheeseburger Rice has a ton of flavor and fun!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 2/3 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups instant rice
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup dill pickles, thinly sliced, for topping
- 5 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled, for topping
Directions
Step 1 -In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 2 -Drain the excess grease from the skillet.
Step 3 -Add the water, the barbecue sauce, the mustard, the dried minced onion, and the pepper to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
Step 4 -Bring the beef mixture to a boil.
Step 5 -Add the rice to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
Step 6 -Sprinkle the beef mixture with the cheddar cheese.
Step 7 -Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet.
Step 8 -Allow the beef mixture to simmer until the rice is tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 9 -Sprinkle the top of the beef mixture with the pickles and the bacon.
Step 10 -Serve.
