These Classic Ground Beef Tacos don't bring a ton of razzle-dazzle up front, but their consistent, reliable, meaty flavors sprinkled with all your go-to taco toppings is what make you come back for more over and over again! You really can't beat the classics, especially when it comes to these Classic Ground Beef Tacos!
Ingredients
- For the taco meat:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas, warmed
- Optional toppings:
- lettuce, to taste, finely chopped
- Mexican-blend cheese, to taste, shredded
- salsa, to taste
- red onions, to taste, chopped
- limes, to taste, sliced
Directions
Step 1 -In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil.
Step 2 -Add the beef to the heated oil and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
Step 3 -Add the chili powder, the cumin, the oregano, the garlic powder, the salt, the pepper, the tomato paste, and the water to the cooked beef and stir to combine.
Step 4 -Cook the beef mixture over medium-low heat until the sauce has thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 5 -Evenly add the beef mixture to the center of each of the tortillas.
Step 6 -Serve the beef tacos with your favorite toppings.
