Ingredients

  • 2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons white sugar, divided
  • 1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 ounces) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 (3 ounces) packages strawberry-flavored gelatin mix
  • 2 cups water, boiling
  • 2 (10 ounces) packages frozen strawberries

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 -Stir together the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of the sugar.

Step 3 -Mix well and press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 4 -Bake until set, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 5 -Set the pretzel crust aside to let it cool.

Step 6 -In a large mixing bowl, cream together the cream cheese and the remaining 1 cup of the sugar.

Step 7 -Fold in the whipped topping.

Step 8 -Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the cooled crust.

Step 9 -Dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water.

Step 10 -Stir the frozen strawberries into the gelatin and allow it to set briefly.

Step 11 -When the mixture is about the consistency of egg whites, pour and spread it over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.

Step 12 -Refrigerate until set.

Step 13 -Serve chilled.
