Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • sea salt, to taste
  • ground pepper, to taste
  • olive oil, to taste, for oiling the grill grates
  • 1/3 cup barbeque sauce, plus more, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 -Heat the grill to medium-high.

Step 2 -Generously season the chicken breasts with the salt and the pepper.

Step 3 -Once the grill is hot, clean and lightly oil the grill grates using the olive oil.

Step 4 -Place the chicken on the grill on the top rack.

Step 5 -Grill the chicken breasts until the undersides have grill marks and easily pull away from the grill grates, about 5-6 minutes.

Step 6 -Flip the chicken breasts and grill until the other undersides have grill marks, about 5-6 minutes.

Step 7 -Using 1/3 cup of the barbeque sauce, brush both sides of each of the chicken breasts until coated.

Step 8 -Let the chicken cook until its internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 9 -Discard any sauce that came in contact with raw chicken and transfer the chicken breasts from the grill.

Step 10 -Let the chicken rest for 1-2 minutes.

Step 11 -Serve the chicken with the extra barbeque sauce.
