Ingredients

  • For the peach tea vodka:
  • 1 (20-ounce) jar sliced peaches, drained, or 6 peaches, peeled and pitted, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups neutral grain alcohol, 190 proof, such as Everclear®, plus more, to taste
  • 1 cup water, boiling, plus 3/4 cup water, room temperature, divided
  • 1 large or 2 small black tea bags
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • For the twisted tea:
  • ice, to taste
  • 1/2 cup lemonade, homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 cup iced tea, unsweetened, homemade or store-bought
  • peaches, optional, to taste, sliced, for garnish
  • lemons, optional, to taste, sliced, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -In a 32-ounce Mason jar or a similar large glass jar, add 1 of the jars of the peaches. They should fill it to the top.

Step 2 -Add the lemon juice to the peaches without stirring.

Step 3 -Add 2 cups of the grain alcohol to the jar. If it does not reach the top, add the extra grain alcohol until the liquid reaches the top.

Step 4 -Seal the jar with an airtight lid.

Step 5 -Flip the jar upside down a few times to make sure all the peaches are fully submerged, and all the peaches are touching the alcohol.

Step 6 -Place the jar in the refrigerator to chill for at least 48 hours. Make sure to slowly shake the jar twice a day.

Step 7 -Into a bowl, strain the liquid from the peaches.

Step 8 -Pour the peach-infused alcohol into the original Mason jar. Reserve the alcohol-soaked peaches for a separate use or discard.

Step 9 -In a large pot, add 1 cup of the boiling water.

Step 10 -Continuously dunk the tea bag into the boiling water until the tea infuses the water.

Step 11 -Add the tea bag to the boiling water.

Step 12 -Pour the tea mixture, including the tea bag, into the Mason jar with the peach-infused vodka and stir to combine.

Step 13 -Seal the jar and allow the tea bag to sit in the mixture for 10 minutes.

Step 14 -In a saucepan over medium-high heat, add the remaining room temperature water and the sugar and bring the mixture to a boil, while stirring, until the sugar dissolves.

Step 15 -Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the simple syrup mixture simmer until the sugar dissolves. Transfer the pan from the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool slightly.

Step 16 -Remove and discard the tea bag from the jar.

Step 17 -Add the simple syrup to the jar and stir to combine.

Step 18 -Seal the jar and allow the peach tea vodka mixture to chill in the refrigerator, about 30 minutes.

Step 19 -Fill six serving glasses with the ice.

Step 20 -In a pitcher, add 1 1/2 ounces of the peach tea vodka, the lemonade, and the iced tea and stir to combine. Reserve the remaining peach tea vodka for another use.

Step 21 -Pour the twisted tea evenly into the serving glasses over the ice.

Step 22 -Serve garnished with the extra peach slices and the lemon slices.
