Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • white pepper, to taste
  • 5 cups frozen corn, thawed
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • fresh parsley, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 2 -Stir in the flour until smooth.

Step 3 -Gradually add the cream, the milk, the sugar, the salt, and the white pepper.

Step 4 -Bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 5 -Boil, stirring, for 2 minutes.

Step 6 -Add the corn and heat through.

Step 7 -Transfer the mixture to an ungreased 1 1/2-quart broiler-proof dish.

Step 8 -Sprinkle the top of the creamed corn with the parmesan.

Step 9 -Broil the casserole 5-inches from the heating unit until lightly browned and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 10 -Garnish with the fresh parsley and serve.
