About
Lean back in your chair. Gaze into the dance of the campfire. Listen to the crackling. Let the smoky aroma fill your nostrils. When you get hungry, place a packet of Fireside Stir Fry over the open flame and let the crispy yet tender green beans and the rosy, juicy steak cook to perfection in a sweet, tangy marinade. Even if you don't have a campfire at the ready, this summertime meal can be made on the grill with the same delicious results (just less nature-filled ambiance); Fireside Stir Fry is a delightful dish for one that proves that cooking just for yourself can be just as adventurous and exciting as cooking for a whole party!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 cup green beans, trimmed
- 4-5 ounces steak, sliced into thin strips
- 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Tear two pieces of foil so they are 12x18 inches each and stack the foil on top of each other.
Step 2 -In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, the garlic, the sesame seeds, and the sesame oil.
Step 3 -Toss the green beans in 1 tablespoon of the sauce mixture.
Step 4 -In a separate bowl or a resealable plastic bag, marinate the steak slices in the remaining sauce mixture for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Step 5 -Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Step 6 -Place a layer of the green beans in the center of the foil.
Step 7 -Top the green beans with the marinated steak slices.
Step 8 -Fold up the foil to create a packet with a tight seal.
Step 9 -Place the sealed packet on the hot grill, flipping once, until the steak is cooked to at least 135 degrees F internally for medium-rare, about 8 minutes.
Step 10 -Remove the packet from the grill and pierce the packet with a knife or a fork to allow the steam to escape.
Step 11 -Unfold the packet, garnish with the cilantro, and serve.
