Double the orange flavor, double the delight! Double Delights are buttery, tender cookies with lots of sunny orange goodness baked right in! On top is a creamy, luscious, sweet orange frosting that'll bring delight to anyone's day. Double Delights are going to make dessert a doubly good time!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, softened, divided
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (6-ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 4 tablespoons orange zest, divided
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 4 tablespoons whole milk

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 3 -In a large bowl, add the white sugar and 1 cup of the butter and using an electric handheld mixer, beat until light and fluffy.

Step 4 -Add the sour cream and the eggs to the butter mixture and beat until well-blended.

Step 5 -In a bowl, add the flour, the baking powder, the baking soda, and the salt and whisk to combine.

Step 6 -Reserve 2 tablespoons of the orange juice concentrate.

Step 7 -Add the remaining orange juice concentrate and the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well to combine into a dough.

Step 8 -Add 2 tablespoons of the orange zest to the dough and stir to combine.

Step 9 -Drop the cookie dough by the heaping tablespoonful onto the prepared baking sheets. You may need to work in batches.

Step 10 -Bake the cookies until the edges just begin to brown, about 10 minutes.

Step 11 -Transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

Step 12 -Repeat the baking process as needed until all of the dough is used.

Step 13 -In a small bowl, add the cream cheese, the remaining butter, the confectioners' sugar, the remaining orange zest, the reserved orange juice concentrate, and the milk and whisk until smooth.

Step 14 -Evenly spread a small amount of the frosting onto each of the cooled cookies.

Step 15 -Serve.
