- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Step 1 -Lightly grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or a 10-inch round baking dish.
Step 2 -Use the flour to lightly dust a work surface.
Step 3 -On the prepared work surface, place 3 rows of 4 of the frozen biscuits with the sides touching and let them stand until they are thawed but still cool to the touch, about 30-45 minutes.
Step 4 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 5 -In a medium pan over medium-high heat, add enough of the water so that it is 1/2-3/4 of the way full, and bring to a boil.
Step 6 -In a large bowl, add the dried apricots and the boiling water and lightly stir to combine.
Step 7 -Let the apricots stand in the water, about 10 minutes, then drain them well.
Step 8 -Transfer the drained apricots to a cutting board and chop them. Set them aside.
Step 9 -Lightly sprinkle the thawed biscuits with more of the flour.
Step 10 -Press the biscuit edges together and press down on them to form a 10x12-inch rectangle.
Step 11 -Evenly spread the softened butter over the dough rectangle.
Step 12 -In a medium bowl, add the cinnamon and the brown sugar and whisk to combine.
Step 13 -Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture over the butter layer.
Step 14 -Evenly sprinkle the chopped apricots and the pecans over the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture.
Step 15 -Starting with one of the long ends, roll the dough rectangle up and seal the seam.
Step 16 -Use a sharp knife to cut the dough roll into 12 (1-inch-thick) slices.
Step 17 -Arrange the dough slices in the prepared cast-iron skillet with one of the swirl-sides up, and bake until the rolls are golden and cooked through, about 35-40 minutes.
Step 18 -Transfer the cast-iron skillet to a wire rack and let the rolls cool slightly.
Step 19 -In a medium bowl, add the confectioners' sugar, the milk, and the vanilla extract and whisk to combine.
Step 20 -Evenly drizzle the glaze over the baked rolls.
Step 21 -Serve.
