No holiday is complete without a delicious snack dip that everyone will want to dig into with gusto! Christmas Eve Cheese Dip is perfect for welcoming the holidays with a creamy, cheesy, tangy, and yes, even crunchy homemade dip. Nothing in a jar can compare to melty Swiss and cream cheese with notes of savory onion and sour mustard, bits of bacon and almonds for texture, and tart cranberries for a seasonal pop of color! Christmas Eve Cheese Dip is holly jolly joy on toasted bread!
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup spreadable chive and onion cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon stone-ground mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic pepper spice blend
- 3 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped onions, thawed and patted dry
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds, divided
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries, chopped
- French bread baguette, optional, to taste, sliced 1/4-inch-thick
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 1-2-quart baking dish.
Step 3 -In a large bowl, add the mayonnaise, the cream cheese, the mustard, and the garlic pepper and stir to combine.
Step 4 -Add the Swiss cheese to the mayonnaise mixture and mix well to combine.
Step 5 -Add the onions, the bacon, 1/4 cup of the almonds, and the cranberries to the mayonnaise mixture and stir to combine.
Step 6 -Transfer the dip mixture to the prepared baking dish.
Step 7 -Sprinkle the dip mixture with the remaining almonds.
Step 8 -Transfer the baking dish to a baking sheet to catch any drippings.
Step 9 -Bake, uncovered, until the dip mixture is bubbly, about 25-30 minutes.
Step 10 -Serve the dip warm with the baguette slices.
