Every time we see a new salty and sweet treat, we get so excited because it's just the best combination ever! Well, here we are again! Chocolate Pretzel Bars make crushed pretzels their foundation. That salty layer gets a nice mix of creamy peanut butter and THEN a rich blanket of chocolate spread on top. Plus, there are cute, little mini pretzels atop each piece to ensure you get just the right amount of salty with your sweet. YUM. YUM. YUM. If you're a fan of the spellbinding combo, then you're gonna love these Chocolate Pretzel Bars! They're almost too good to be true!
Ingredients
- 5 cups whole mini pretzels, for crushing, plus 24 whole mini pretzels, for topping, divided
- 2 1/4 cups creamy peanut butter, divided
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 -Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Step 2 -Crush 5 cups of the pretzels into small crumbs by placing them in a resealable bag and rolling them over with a rolling pin, or by pulsing them in a food processor.
Step 3 -In a bowl, add the pretzel crumbs, 2 cups of the peanut butter, the powdered sugar, and the melted butter and mix until evenly combined.
Step 4 -Spread the pretzel mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
Step 5 -In a microwave-safe dish, add the chocolate chips and the remaining peanut butter and microwave in increments of about 30 seconds, stirring in between each, until the mixture is melted.
Step 6 -Spread the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the top of the pretzel mixture.
Step 7 -Press the remaining 24 whole pretzels lightly into the chocolate-peanut butter layer, 4 down and 6 across, so they'll be centered on each bar when cut.
Step 8 -Chill the bars for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Step 9 -Cut the bars into 24 pieces.
Step 10 -Serve.
