Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted, plus more, to taste, softened, for greasing the baking dish
  • 1 (10.75-ounce) loaf bread, day-old and torn into small pieces
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Using the extra butter, grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 -In a large bowl, combine the bread, the milk, the brown sugar, 1/2 cup of the butter, the eggs, the vanilla, and the butterscotch chips, stirring to combine. The mixture will be the consistency of oatmeal.

Step 4 -Pour the bread pudding mixture into the prepared pan.

Step 5 -Bake the bread pudding until it is nearly set, but still has a slight wiggle, about 1 hour.

Step 6 -Serve the bread pudding warm or cold.
