  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 20 pieces
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into 20 pieces
  • fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
  • mayonnaise, optional, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 -Coat a mini muffin tin with cooking spray.

Step 3 -In a medium bowl, add the beef, the garlic powder, the salt, and the black pepper and mix gently but thoroughly to combine.

Step 4 -Into the bottom of each cup of the prepared muffin tin, add 1 teaspoon of the beef mixture and press it down so it covers the bottom of each cup.

Step 5 -Add 1 piece of the butter and 1 piece of the cheddar on top of each of the beef layers in the muffin cups.

Step 6 -Add 1 teaspoon of the beef mixture to each of the muffin cups, covering the butter and the cheddar completely.

Step 7 -Bake until the meat reaches an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F for medium doneness, about 15 minutes.

Step 8 -Allow the mini burgers to cool slightly.

Step 9 -Using a metal offset spatula, release each of the mini burgers from the muffin tin.

Step 10 -Serve the mini burgers garnished with the parsley and with the mayonnaise.
