Ingredients

  • 1 (32-ounce) package frozen tater tots
  • 2 pounds bacon slices, cut in half
  • 6 slices American cheese, each slice broken into about 16 small pieces

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on a large baking sheet.

Step 3 -Bake the tater tots until they are no longer frozen but not completely cooked, about 10 minutes.

Step 4 -Transfer the baking sheet to a wire rack and let the tater tots cool.

Step 5 -In a skillet over medium heat, fry the bacon halves until they are cooked through, but still flexible.

Step 6 -Transfer the cooked bacon halves to a paper-towel-lined plate.

Step 7 -Place the small cheese pieces against one side of each of the tater tots, then wrap them each with a piece of the bacon halves. Secure with a toothpick.

Step 8 -Place the wrapped tater tots on the same baking sheet and bake until the bacon is crisp, about 30 minutes.

Step 9 -Serve.
