  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions

Step 1 -In a large bowl of a stand mixer or with an electric mixer, add the butter and the cream cheese and beat until creamy, well-combined, and lump-free.

Step 2 -Add the vanilla extract and the salt to the butter mixture and stir well to combine.

Step 3 -With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the confectioners' sugar and beat until completely combined.

Step 4 -Add the frosting to a completely cooled cake or about 24 cupcakes.
