Watch-My-Beer Bread is just a funny name for the tastiest beer bread around! You get to watch as an average bottle of beer transforms into a tender, buttery loaf of bread just loaded with melty, creamy cheese! Watch-My-Beer Bread is so delicious it doesn't even need butter on it... although we won't stop you from adding it, or even a sweet jam to bring out even more of the amazing malty flavor!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted, plus more, to taste, room temperature, for greasing the pan
  • 4 ounces Jarlsberg® or Swiss cheese
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (12-ounce) bottle beer, of your choice

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 -Using the extra butter, coat an 8x4-inch loaf pan.

Step 3 -Divide the cheese in half, then cut one of the halves into 1/4-inch cubes. Set them aside.

Step 4 -Shred the remaining cheese. Set it aside.

Step 5 -In a large bowl, add the flour, the sugar, the baking powder, the salt, and the pepper and stir to combine.

Step 6 -Add the beer to the flour mixture and stir until the mixture is just moistened into a dough.

Step 7 -Add the cubed cheese and the shredded cheese to the dough and fold to combine.

Step 8 -Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan and drizzle the dough with the remaining 2 tablespoons of the melted butter.

Step 9 -Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean, about 50 minutes-1 hour.

Step 10 -Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Step 11 -Transfer the bread from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 12 -Slice and serve.
