  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

Directions

Step 1 -In a large bowl, add the olive oil, the brown sugar, the lemon juice, the garlic, the paprika, the Italian seasoning, the basil, and the pepper and stir to combine.

Step 2 -Add the shrimp to the marinade mixture and toss to coat.

Step 3 -Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Let the shrimp marinate, about 2 hours.

Step 4 -Preheat the oven to the broil setting.

Step 5 -Grease a baking sheet.

Step 6 -Transfer the bowl from the refrigerator and drain the marinade.

Step 7 -Evenly spread the marinaded shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 8 -Broil the shrimp 4 inches from the heat source, flipping halfway through, until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F and are pink, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Step 9 -Serve.
