Ingredients
- 3/4 pound bulk sausage
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 3/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (15.5-ounce) can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
- fresh thyme leaves, optional, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-8 minutes.
Step 2 -Drain the excess fat from the saucepan.
Step 3 -Add the tomatoes and their juices, the chicken broth, the dried thyme, the rosemary, and the black pepper to the sausage and stir to combine.
Step 4 -Bring the soup mixture to a boil.
Step 5 -Add the great northern beans and the garbanzo beans to the soup mixture and stir to combine.
Step 6 -Cook until the beans are heated through, about 5 minutes.
Step 7 -Serve garnished with the fresh thyme leaves.
