Cheesy Holiday Magic really does cast a spell on your holiday guests and friends. Simply put it on the table and presto! No one will want to leave! Why would they? These are basically holiday nachos — crunchy potato chips candied with brown sugar and maple syrup and then blanketed with crispy bites of bacon and melty cheddar cheese. A little sprinkle of zesty cayenne and the enchantment of Cheesy Holiday Magic is complete! What a tasty display of kitchen wizardry!
Ingredients
- 10 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 1 (13-ounce) bag kettle-cooked, thick-cut potato chips, black pepper or sea salt flavored
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- fresh rosemary, optional, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3 -In a large skillet over high heat, add the bacon and cook it, while stirring, until the fat renders and the bacon is just beginning to crisp, about 5-6 minutes.
Step 4 -Transfer the bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
Step 5 -On the prepared, add the potato chips and spread them out in a single layer.
Step 6 -Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the potato chips.
Step 7 -Drizzle the maple syrup evenly over the chips.
Step 8 -Sprinkle the cheese and the bacon evenly over the potato chips.
Step 9 -Sprinkle the cayenne pepper evenly over the potato chips.
Step 10 -Bake until the bacon is crisp and the cheese is melted, about 10-15 minutes.
Step 11 -Serve garnished with the rosemary.
