Everybody is buzzing about this Buzz Stir-Fry Shrimp! This is a simple, speedy, and delicious dinner that anyone can make in a snap. And once you try it for yourself, you'll see why everyone will want to make it and eat it. The shrimp is sweet and savory, the beautiful pink contrasted against the vibrant green of the sautéed broccoli! And with that sweet and savory sauce sticking to it? Well, Buzz Stir-Fry Shrimp will have your taste buds buzzing for more!
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, divided
- 2 1/2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 1/4 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon cold water, divided
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- rice, optional, to taste, cooked and hot, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -In a large pan over medium-high heat, add 1 teaspoon of the oil.
Step 2 -Add the broccoli to the hot oil and cook, while stirring occasionally, until tender, about 4-5 minutes.
Step 3 -Transfer the broccoli to a plate and cover to keep it warm.
Step 4 -Wipe the pan clean with a paper towel.
Step 5 -In the same pan over high heat, add the remaining oil.
Step 6 -Season the shrimp with the salt and the pepper.
Step 7 -Add the shrimp to the hot oil and cook, while stirring occasionally, until they are opaque and almost cooked through, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 8 -Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Step 9 -Add the broccoli to the shrimp mixture and stir to combine.
Step 10 -In a small bowl, add 1/4 cup of the water, the honey, and the soy sauce and whisk to combine.
Step 11 -In another small bowl, add the cornstarch and the remaining water and whisk to combine.
Step 12 -Pour the soy sauce mixture over the shrimp mixture and cook, while stirring, until combined, about 30 seconds.
Step 13 -Add the slurry mixture to the shrimp mixture and stir to combine.
Step 14 -Bring the shrimp mixture to a boil and let it boil until the sauce has thickened, about 1 minute.
Step 15 -Serve immediately over the rice.
