Ingredients
- 1 (14.25-15.25-ounce) box white cake mix, plus the ingredients called for on the package
- 1 cup water, boiling
- 1 (3-ounce) package strawberry-flavored gelatin
- 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping, thawed
- 12 fresh strawberries, halved
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
Step 3 -Prepare the white cake mix batter according to the package directions.
Step 4 -Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
Step 5 -Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 28-32.
Step 6 -Transfer the baking pan to a wire rack to cool for 20 minutes.
Step 7 -In a medium bowl, add the boiling water and the gelatin and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Step 8 -Using the bottom of a wooden spoon or a wooden skewer, poke holes all over the cake.
Step 9 -Carefully pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the top of the cake.
Step 10 -Allow the cake to cool completely.
Step 11 -Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.
Step 12 -Sprinkle the strawberry halves over the whipped topping layer.
