Since this is made in a slow cooker, this certainly qualifies as Easy Friday Night Ravioli. A quick homemade meat sauce, savory and succulent, is honestly the hardest part of this dish, and that just involves cooking sausage and heating up your favorite pasta sauce. Really, the slow cooker is doing the heavy lifting here; you can just sit back a bit. Seriously, you deserve it and all the cheesy magic to come. Easy Friday Night Ravioli is how you welcome the weekend.
Ingredients
- 1 (45-ounce) jar pasta sauce
- 1 pound Italian sausage, mild or hot
- 1 (25-ounce) package cheese and spinach filled ravioli
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese
- Italian seasoning, optional, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Spray the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
Step 2 -Reserve 1 cup of the pasta sauce and set it aside.
Step 3 -In a skillet over medium heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.
Step 4 -Drain the fat from the skillet.
Step 5 -Add the remaining pasta sauce to the skillet and simmer until heated through and the flavors have started to meld together, about 2 minutes.
Step 6 -Place the reserved pasta sauce in the bottom of the prepared slow cooker.
Step 7 -Top the pasta sauce layer in the slow cooker with 1/2 of the ravioli, 1/2 of the meat sauce, and 1/2 of the cheese.
Step 8 -Repeat the layers once, ending with the cheese.
Step 9 -Cover and cook until the ravioli is cooked through and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 hours on low.
Step 10 -Serve garnished with the Italian seasoning.
