  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 cup prepared Picante sauce
  • 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 jalapeño, stems and seeds removed, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 green onions, optional, chopped, for garnish
  • tortilla chips, optional, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 -In a large bowl, combine the refried beans, the Picante sauce, the pepper jack cheese, the cheddar cheese, the sour cream, the cream cheese, the jalapeño, the chili powder, and the cumin.

Step 3 -Mix the bean mixture with an electric handheld mixer until combined.

Step 4 -Pour the bean mixture into a square baking dish or a large oven-safe skillet.

Step 5 -Bake until bubbly and hot, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 6 -Sprinkle with the green onions and serve with the tortilla chips.
