  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (9-inch) pie dough crust, homemade or store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • vanilla ice cream, optional, to taste, for serving
  • fresh mint, optional, to taste, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 -Grease a 9x9-inch square baking dish.

Step 3 -In a medium bowl, add the berries, 1 cup of the sugar, the flour, and the salt and toss to combine.

Step 4 -Pour the berry mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Step 5 -Cut the pie dough into 2-inch squares.

Step 6 -Arrange the dough squares in a patchwork pattern over the berry mixture, leaving spaces in between the squares to allow steam to escape.

Step 7 -Brush the pie dough squares evenly with the melted butter.

Step 8 -In a small bowl, add the remaining sugar and the cinnamon and whisk to combine.

Step 9 -Sprinkle the pie dough squares with the cinnamon-sugar.

Step 10 -Bake until the berry mixture is bubbly and the crust is deeply golden, about 30-35 minutes.

Step 11 -Allow the cobbler to cool slightly.

Step 12 -Serve warm topped with the ice cream and the mint.
