Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix, plus the ingredients called for on the box
  • 9 tablespoons Amaretto, divided
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened, plus 4 tablespoons, cold, divided
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2 -Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with foil. Coat the foil with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3 -Prepare and bake the brownie mixture, according to the package directions.

Step 4 -Spoon 6 tablespoons of the Amaretto over the top of the brownies, then allow them to cool.

Step 5 -In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup of the softened butter, the powdered sugar, and the remaining Amaretto and mix until well-combined.

Step 6 -Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.

Step 7 -In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and the remaining cold butter and microwave in 30-second intervals until melted.

Step 8 -Spread the melted chocolate mixture over the frosting and allow it to harden.

Step 9 -Transfer the brownies to the refrigerator until they are hardened on top, about 1 hour.

Step 10 -Serve.
