It's American Made and Far and Away an amazing pasta dish! Tom Cruise Alfredo features a creamy, sharp, and rich Alfredo sauce coating tender, buttery fettuccine. All along the top is some Legend-ary chicken, succulent and with a golden crust, to really make the most of what was already a dish worthy of Endless Love. Tom Cruise Alfredo is cruising to a place in your heart!
Ingredients
- 16 ounces fettuccine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided, plus more, to taste
- kosher salt, to taste
- fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
- 1 (1-pound) chicken breast, boneless and skinless, cut lengthwise into 2 thinner pieces
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 8 tablespoons butter, cut into 8 slices
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 16 ounces heavy cream
- 8 ounces parmesan cheese, freshly shredded
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -In a large pot of salted, boiling water, cook the fettucine to al dente, according to the package directions.
Step 2 -Toss the pasta with the extra olive oil.
Step 3 -Season the pasta with the salt and the pepper.
Step 4 -In a medium bowl, add the chicken breast pieces, 1 tablespoon of the olive oil, the Italian seasoning, the paprika, the salt, and the pepper and toss to coat and combine.
Step 5 -In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of the olive oil.
Step 6 -Add the prepared chicken and sear until they have a golden-brown crust and the meat reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 4-7 minutes per side.
Step 7 -Transfer the chicken pieces from the pan to a clean plate and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.
Step 8 -Slice the chicken breast pieces.
Step 9 -Add the butter and the garlic to the sauté pan and reduce the heat to low.
Step 10 -Cook the garlic in the butter, while stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 30 seconds-1 minute. Make sure the garlic doesn't brown.
Step 11 -Add the heavy cream to the butter mixture, while whisking, and increase the heat to medium.
Step 12 -Cook the cream mixture, while whisking, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Step 13 -Reduce the heat to medium-low.
Step 14 -Simmer the cream mixture gently, while whisking frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 15 -Transfer the pan away from the heat.
Step 16 -Add the parmesan cheese, the nutmeg, the salt, and the pepper and stir until the cheese melts.
Step 17 -Add the pasta to the cheese sauce and toss it coat evenly.
Step 18 -Add the cooked chicken to the cheese sauce and toss to combine.
Step 19 -Return the pan to the stovetop over medium-low heat and cook until the chicken mixture is warmed through, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 20 -Transfer the chicken mixture from the heat.
Step 21 -Serve garnished with the parsley.
