Yes indeed, Thai-Breaker Tacos, a fusion of the two cuisines that means you can enjoy the best of both worlds. The juicy, savory steaks are marinaded in a classic Thai-inspired sauce with notes of chili and garlic and drizzled with a spicy mayo. Then it's all piled into tacos! Because if any food says, "pure joy," it's tacos. Thai-Breaker Tacos will forever and always win every debate about what to make for dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 1 pound New York strip steak, boneless, cut into 1/4-inch strips
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce, plus more to taste
  • 1 cup green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium carrot, shredded
  • 6 radishes, thinly sliced
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

Step 1 -In a medium bowl, whisk the soy sauce, the vinegar, the honey, the fish sauce, the chili garlic paste, the sesame oil, the lime zest, and the lime juice together.

Step 2 -Place the steak in a 2-gallon resealable plastic bag.

Step 3 -Pour the marinade into the bag with the steak, massaging it to make sure everything is coated.

Step 4 -Refrigerate the steak and marinade it for at least 3 hours and up to 6 hours.

Step 5 -In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and the hot sauce.

Step 6 -In a medium bowl, toss the cabbage, the carrot, and the radishes together.

Step 7 -In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, warm 2-3 tortillas at a time, about 1 minute per side.

Step 8 -Transfer the tortillas to a plate and keep them warm with a clean dish towel.

Step 9 -Increase the heat of the same skillet to high and heat the olive oil.

Step 10 -Add the steak to the oil, discarding the marinade, and cook, stirring, until seared and it has reached at least 145 degrees F internally, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 11 -Evenly divide the steak among the 8 warmed tortillas.

Step 12 -Top the tacos with the vegetable mixture and the spicy mayo sauce.

Step 13 -Sprinkle the tacos with the cilantro and the sesame seeds.

Step 14 -Serve.
