Nothing says spring cocktail quite like the Mint Julep. The refreshing coolness of the mint makes this the drink for enjoying out in the sun or by the water. With just a pleasant buzz and a touch of sweetness, a Mint Julep is the best of sitting back and relaxing beverages. It takes so little effort and time to make you can begin relaxing even before your first sip!

Ingredients
- 3/4 ounce simple syrup, store-bought or homemade
- 8 mint leaves, plus more, to taste, for garnish
- crushed ice, to taste
- 2 ounces bourbon
- Angostura bitters, optional, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Add the simple syrup and 8 of the mint leaves to a glass, muddling the leaves gently until they are fragrant.
Step 2 -Fill the glass with the crushed ice.
Step 3 -Add the bourbon.
Step 4 -Top the cocktail with 1-2 dashes of the bitters and stir gently.
Step 5 -Garnish with the extra mint leaves and serve.
