Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken, boneless and skinless
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • neutral-flavored oil, to taste

Directions

Step 1 -Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2 -Using a mixing bowl, combine together the salt, the onion powder, the garlic powder, the ground black pepper, the paprika, and the allspice.

Step 3 -Add in the chicken pieces and stir to fully coat the chicken pieces.

Step 4 -Coat the chicken in cornstarch, making sure the cornstarch is evenly distributed.

Step 5 -Pour the egg white into a small bowl, then add the breadcrumbs to a separate bowl.

Step 6 -Coat the chicken pieces in the egg white and then in the breadcrumbs. Set them aside.

Step 7 -Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Step 8 -Once the oil reaches about 350-375 degrees F, carefully place the dredged chicken pieces into the oil in batches. Do not add too many pieces at once as this will overcrowd the pan.

Step 9 -Deep-fry the chicken pieces until they are golden-brown.

Step 10 -Transfer the fried chicken pieces onto a piece of paper towel to drain off the excess oil.

Step 11 -Serve.
