Ditch the box! Get your chocolate fix with some From-Scratch Fudge Brownies! They're probably way easier to make than you think they are. All it takes is two bowls: one for the rich, fudgy brownie batter and the second for the creamy, chocolaty frosting! Oh, and you'll need a baking dish to pour that batter in before popping these puppies in the oven, while you eagerly wait for the gooey, moist, and crumbly chocolate squares to come to life! Slap on that yummy frosting and you've got yourself some From-Scratch Fudge Brownies. See? Homemade isn't so hard after all!
Ingredients
- For the brownies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- For the frosting:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- powdered sugar, to taste
- milk, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
Step 3 -In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of the butter, the granulated sugar, and the eggs and mix to combine.
Step 4 - Add 2 teaspoons of the vanilla to the butter mixture and stir to combine.
Step 5 -Add 3/4 cup of the cocoa powder, the flour, the salt, and the baking powder to the butter mixture and mix until evenly combined.
Step 6 -Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish and spread it out evenly.
Step 7 -Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30-40 minutes.
Step 8 -In a mixing bowl, add the remaining butter, the remaining cocoa powder, the honey, and the remaining vanilla and mix to combine.
Step 9 -Alternately add the powdered sugar and the milk to the frosting mixture, as needed, and stir until the desired consistency is reached.
Step 10 -Spread the frosting over the top of the brownies while they are still warm.
Step 11 -Let the brownies cool slightly, then slice.
Step 12 -Serve.
