Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large head cabbage, cored and sliced
- 1 tablespoon salt, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
Directions
Step 1 -In a large stockpot over medium-high heat, add the bacon and cook until crispy, about 10 minutes.
Step 2 -Add the onion and the garlic and cook, stirring, until the onion is golden-brown, about 10 minutes.
Step 3 -Immediately stir in the cabbage and cook until the cabbage starts to soften, about 10 minutes.
Step 4 -Season the cabbage with the salt, the pepper, the onion powder, the garlic powder, and the paprika.
Step 5 -Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
Step 6 -Simmer the cabbage mixture, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld together and the cabbage is truly softened, about 30 minutes.
Step 7 -Serve.
