Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 12 slices bacon
  • mashed potatoes, optional, to taste, cooked and hot, for serving
  • parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 -Coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.

Step 3 -In a small bowl, add the maple syrup and the chili powder and whisk to combine.

Step 4 -In a separate small dish, add the onion powder, the garlic powder, the salt, and the black pepper and whisk to combine.

Step 5 -Rub the dry seasoning mixture all over the chicken breasts.

Step 6 -Wrap 3 slices of the bacon around each of the chicken breasts.

Step 7 -Transfer the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts to the prepared baking dish.

Step 8 -Brush each of the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts evenly with the maple syrup mixture.

Step 9 -Bake until the chicken breasts reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 10 -Optionally, switch the oven to broil and cook until the bacon is crisp, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 11 -Plate the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts over the mashed potatoes.

Step 12 -Garnish with the parsley and serve.
