As side dishes go, Dad's Brown Butter 'Shrooms are something to behold! The mushrooms are tender and coated in a nutty and rich brown butter with just a touch of seasoning for so much savory flavor! With a dusting of sharp parmesan, these beefy mushrooms will pair wonderfully with chicken, steak, or pork chops with ease! Dad's Brown Butter 'Shrooms are Dad's secret weapon in the kitchen and now it's yours!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 (16-ounce) container mushrooms, halved
- 1 cup red onion, sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Step 2 -In a large bowl, add the oil, the thyme, the pepper, and the salt and stir to combine.
Step 3 -Add the mushrooms and the onions to the oil mixture and toss to coat.
Step 4 -Transfer the mushroom mixture to a large, rimmed baking sheet, spreading it out evenly.
Step 5 -Roast the mushroom mixture, stirring once, until the mushrooms are cooked through, about 15-18 minutes.
Step 6 -In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Step 7 -Cook the melted butter, while stirring constantly, until browned, about 2 minutes.
Step 8 -Transfer the mushroom mixture to a medium bowl. Drizzle the mushrooms with the browned butter and sprinkle them with the parmesan cheese.
Step 9 -Toss the mushroom mixture to coat them in the browned butter and the parmesan.
Step 10 -Serve.
