  • 6 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound mild Italian sausage
  • 14 ounces tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Grease a deep-dish pie plate.

Step 3 -Cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Drain the pasta.

Step 4 -Toss the spaghetti with melted butter, eggs, and parmesan.

Step 5 -Press the spaghetti into the bottom of the prepared pie plate.

Step 6 -In a medium bowl, mix the ricotta, parsley, oregano, and basil until well combined.

Step 7 -Spread the ricotta mixture over the spaghetti in the pie plate.

Step 8 -In a large skillet, sauté the ground beef and Italian sausage until cooked through, breaking it up as it cooks, about 8 minutes.

Step 9 -Drain the grease and add the diced tomatoes and marinara to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Step 10 -Pour the meat sauce over the ricotta layer in the pie plate, spreading it evenly.

Step 11 -Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the meat layer.

Step 12 -Bake until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling, for about 20-25 minutes.

Step 13 -Let the pie sit for 10 minutes before serving.
