Korean Steak Bites are simple and delicious. Marinated in a sweet, spicy, and umami packed sauce, each of these beefy steak bites are pan-seared until juicy and rosy on the inside! Served with rice or just on their own for a punch of protein, Korean Steak Bites are a fantastic and fun dish anyone can make and everyone will enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup coconut aminos
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and whole
- 1 medjool date, pitted, can substitute 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1 (1-inch) knob fresh ginger, peeled
- 2 teaspoons gochugaru, optional
- 1 1/2 pounds steak, such as sirloin, rib-eye, strip, or tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- sesame seeds, optional, to taste, for garnish
- green onions, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -In a blender, add the coconut aminos, the toasted sesame oil, the garlic cloves, the date, the ginger, and the gochugaru.
Step 2 -Cover the blender and blend the marinade mixture until smooth.
Step 3 -In a large, resealable plastic bag, add the marinade and the steak pieces and seal the bag.
Step 4 -Massage the steak pieces in the marinade to coat them.
Step 5 -Place the bag in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
Step 6 -Transfer the steak pieces from the marinade and drain them, discarding the excess marinade.
Step 7 -In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the avocado oil and allow it to heat until it is sizzling.
Step 8 -Add the marinated steak pieces to the hot oil in a single layer and cook, undisturbed, until seared on one side, about 2 minutes.
Step 9 -Flip the steak pieces and cook, undisturbed, until they reach an internal temperature of 135 degrees F for a medium-rare doneness, about 2 minutes.
Step 10 -Serve the steak pieces garnished with the sesame seeds and the green onions.
