Joe Burrow's Bacon Wrapped Shrimp are a touchdown for the taste buds. The shrimp are pink and plump, wrapped in succulent, crispy bacon and sweetened with brown sugar to balance out the savory richness. There's even a hint of spice to really round it out! There's a reason Joe Burrow's Bacon Wrapped Shrimp disappear almost as soon as they hit the table! It's a real "bengal" of a snack!
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 7 thick pieces bacon, cut into thirds
- 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon chipotle powder
- parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a baking sheet with foil.
Step 3 -Wrap each piece of the shrimp with 1/3 slice of the bacon, securing each with a toothpick.
Step 4 -Place the bacon wrapped shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 5 -In a bowl, add the melted butter, the brown sugar, and the chipotle powder and stir or whisk to combine.
Step 6 -Brush each shrimp liberally with the butter mixture, using about 2/3 of the butter mixture in total. Reserve the remaining butter mixture.
Step 7 -Bake the shrimp for 15 minutes.
Step 8 -Transfer the baking sheet from the oven and switch the oven to broil.
Step 9 -Brush the shrimp with the remaining butter mixture. Make sure to stir the butter mixture before brushing.
Step 10 -Broil the shrimp until cooked through with the shrimp reaching an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 11 -Serve garnished with the parsley.
