Ingredients
- 1 pound medium or large shell pasta
- 1 pound ground hamburger
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried onion
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 2 (10.75-ounce) cans tomato soup
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- fresh herbs, such as basil or parsley, optional, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 -Cook the pasta to al dente, according to the package directions.
Step 4 -Drain the pasta and set it aside.
Step 5 -In a frying pan, season the hamburger meat with the garlic powder, the dried onion, the salt, and the pepper and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 6 -Pour the cooked pasta into the prepared baking dish.
Step 7 -Add the hamburger meat and the tomato soup to the pasta and stir to combine.
Step 8 -Sprinkle the cheddar cheese and the mozzarella cheese over the casserole.
Step 9 -Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 10 -Remove the foil and continue to bake until the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 10 minutes. Optionally, you can turn on the broiler for 3-5 minutes to make the cheese extra brown.
Step 11 -Serve the bake garnished with the fresh herbs.
