Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 pound semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped and divided
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon coffee, finely ground
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound strawberries, sliced
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease an 8-inch baking pan and line it with foil, allowing for some overhang.
Step 3 -In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Step 4 -Add 1/2 of the chocolate to the saucepan and melt it into the butter, whisking to combine.
Step 5 -Let the chocolate mixture cool.
Step 6 -In a bowl, mix the sugar, the eggs, and the vanilla.
Step 7 -In a separate bowl, sift the flour, the baking powder, the cocoa powder, the coffee, and the salt.
Step 8 -Mix the cooled melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
Step 9 -Mix the flour mixture into the chocolate mixture.
Step 10 -Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
Step 11 -Bake the batter until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.
Step 12 -Sprinkle the strawberries on top of the brownies.
Step 13 -Melt the remaining chocolate over medium-low heat on the stovetop or in the microwave.
Step 14 -Pour the melted chocolate over the strawberries.
Step 15 -Let the melted chocolate cool until set, about 30-60 minutes.
