About

If you thought you were clicking into something sweet, well, we tricked ya! April Fools Cake is actually a savory, pizza-inspired dish made for your main course. That's the only trick here, though. The fluffy crust (that you'll find on the top and bottom!) loaded with tangy pizza sauce and hearty meats, brings some serious flavors that you'll want to slice up and enjoy over and over again. You can trust us! The only joke about April Fools Cake is its name, we promise!

  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 -Grease a 10-inch fluted tube pan.

Step 3 -In a large bowl, add the pizza sauce, the sausage, and the pepperoni and stir to combine.

Step 4 -In a second large bowl, add the biscuit mix, the milk, the eggs, the melted butter, and the garlic salt and stir to combine.

Step 5 -Spread 1/2 of the batter on the bottom and up the sides of the prepared tube pan and spoon the meat mixture over it.

Step 6 -Cover the meat mixture with the remaining batter.

Step 7 -Bake the pizza cake until it has browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35-40 minutes.

Step 8 -Arrange the cheese slices evenly over the pizza cake and bake until the cheese has melted, about 5 minutes.

Step 9 -Use two large metal spatulas to transfer the pizza cake, in one piece, onto a serving plate.

Step 10 -Garnish the pizza cake with the parsley and serve immediately.
