Let freedom ring... especially from the dinner bell! Filled-With-Pride Chicken is packed full of sweet, sweet, herby flavors to create the most patriotic protein! There's nothing quite like the bliss of a warm 4th of July evening and Filled-With-Pride Chicken on your plate makes it even better!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 shallot, diced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped, plus more, to taste, whole sprigs, for garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- kosher salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 6 (4-ounce) chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
Directions
Step 1 -In a small bowl, add the maple syrup, the soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of the olive oil, the shallots, 2 tablespoons of the chopped rosemary, the lemon juice, the Dijon, the garlic, the salt, and the pepper and stir to combine.
Step 2 -In a 1-gallon, resealable plastic bag, add the maple syrup mixture and the chicken breasts, seal, and allow them to marinate in the refrigerator, occasionally turning the bag, for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight.
Step 3 -Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Step 4 -Transfer the chicken breasts from the plastic bag to a plate, then discard the marinade.
Step 5 -Brush the chicken breasts with the remaining olive oil and season them with the salt and the pepper.
Step 6 -Grill the chicken breasts, flipping once halfway through, until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F and their juices run clear, about 10 minutes.
Step 7 -Serve the chicken breasts garnished with the extra rosemary sprigs.
