Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Coat a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3 -In a large bowl, mash the bananas.

Step 4 -Add the applesauce, the sour cream, the eggs, and the vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and stir until it is well-combined.

Step 5 -Add the granulated sugar and the brown sugar to the banana mixture and stir until it is combined.

Step 6 -Add the flour, the baking soda, and the salt to the banana mixture and use a spatula or wooden spoon to stir until it is just combined into a batter. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 7 -Evenly pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then gently tap it to release any air bubbles.

Step 8 -Bake the banana bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 50 minutes-1 hour.

Step 9 -Transfer the loaf pan to a wire rack and let the banana bread cool, about 10-15 minutes.

Step 10 -Invert the banana bread onto the wire rack and let it cool completely.

Step 11 -Slice and serve.
