A southern staple, Sweet Tea is perfect for porch-sipping on a hot day. Making it at home means you get to tailor the level of sweetness to your liking! Garnish with lemon, serve over crushed ice, and enjoy!

• 3 family-sized black tea bags (or 12 individual tea bags), such as Lipton or Luzianne • water • 1 cup granulated sugar • Ice • Fresh mint leaves or lemon slices (optional)

Step 1

Boil 4 cups of water over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat and steep the tea for 5 minutes.

Step 2

Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

Step 3

Pour the contents into a large pitcher. Add 3 more quarts of water to the base. Refrigerate until cold, about 4 hours (or overnight for maximum flavor)

Step 4

Pour over ice and serve with lemon and mint, if desired!
