• 4 slices uncooked bacon, sliced into small pieces • 1 cup white onion, chopped • 2 garlic cloves, minced • 1 pound fresh green beans, stems removed • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth • 1/2 teaspoon creole seasoning • salt and pepper, to taste

Step 1

To begin, heat a large pot or dutch oven on medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add in the pieces of bacon and cook until the bacon crisps, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Drain the excess fat from the pot, reserving a teaspoon of the fat in the pot.

Step 4

Add in the onions and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant.

Step 5

Add in the chicken broth and deglaze the pot with a spatula, scraping up the bits of cooked bacon.

Step 6

Add in the green beans, creole seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste, then stir.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to low. Then, cover and cook for 1-1 1/2 hours until the green beans are tender.

Step 8

Season to your liking and serve.
